SCHUYLKILL: ...A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO 5 AM EST SATURDAY...


THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN STATE COLLEGE HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR MIXED PRECIPITATION...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO 5 AM EST SATURDAY.

* LOCATIONS...PORTIONS OF THE LOWER SUSQUEHANNA VALLEY AND EAST CENTRAL MOUNTAINS.

* HAZARD TYPES...SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN...ENDING AS A FEW HOUR PERIOD OF WET SNOW.

* ICE ACCUMULATIONS...1 TO 2 TENTHS OF AN INCH...NEAR AND TO THE NORTH OF INTERSTATE 81.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...ONE INCH OR LESS.

* TIMING...RAIN WILL CHANGE TO A SEVERAL HOUR PERIOD OF SLEET AND FREEING RAIN LATE THIS EVENING...BEFORE ENDING AS A BRIEF PERIOD OF WET SNOW WELL AFTER MIDNIGHT.

* IMPACTS...HAZARDOUS TRAVEL ON UNTREATED ROADS. ISOLATED POWER OUTAGES POSSIBLE DUE TO DOWNED TREE LIMBS AND POWER LINES.

* TEMPERATURES...IN THE MID 30S...SLOWLY FALLING TO NEAR 30 EARLY SATURDAY.
