Mom. What does the weather have to do with mom? Well, with this forecast, something she taught me over three decades ago as a kid, was something that I've used many times when deciding what to do in a tricky situation: "When in doubt, stick with your first idea. Most of the time, it will end up being the correct solution." I'm not going to B.S. you folks here. This storm has me worried. You all love my near perfect track record this winter season so far, but this one I could mess up on. Which is why you're seeing everything from 2 inches to 10 inches from various weather sources. There are so many players in this particular storm, too numerous to mention since I know most of you are the non-weather geek and just want "the facts."

So what does it come down to? I've got to do what I've done the past few storms, folks. Stick with what I have. Plowable and shovelable, but not crippling. No true blocking in the atmosphere, but could something like mesoscale banding surprise us with much more? Sure. But not likely I don't think. Therefore, here goes, basically a repeat of this morning: Areas north of I-80 will have a light snow going most of tomorrow from some atmospheric advection, but areas south of there (Pottsville/Reading/Lehigh Valley/etc.) may not have any decent snow beginning until much later in the afternoon tomorrow.

I'll give you the breakdown for all of eastern Pennsylvania here since I know many of you travel to work and school from Skook. If you're interested, however, in just Skook, refer to my map. I think a general 1 to 4 inches on a line from Harrisburg to Pottsville will be the final snowfall accumulation when this wraps up Friday morning. Then farther east into the Lehigh Valley and north into northern Jersey, perhaps 3 to 5 or 4 to 6 inches as they'll be more energy there as the storm wraps up along the coast. For my followers in and around Philly, I think a general 1 to 3, maybe 2 to 4 inches is likely. There you have it folks. I'm sticking with it. And on this New Year, let's all make a resolution to be thankful for those little things Mom (or Dad or a grandparent or aunt or uncle or a caretaker or whomever taught us way back when).
