Interstate 81 Police Chase After Vehicle Stolen in Minersville

Scot Lee Mace, 38, of Minersville was taken into custody, Tuesday, after leading police on a chase on Interstate 81 that started in Kings Village Parking Lot, Minersville.


Reports say that Mace climbed into the driver side of a vehicle of another man while he was picking up groceries on the passenger side.  The car's owner was thrown to the ground as Mace stepped on the gas.

Police were called who then caught up with Mace on Interstate 81 in the Highridge Park area.

Mace led police for a short distance, but police were able to bring the vehicle to a controlled stop.

Mace was charged with two counts of robbery, aggravated assault, robbery of a motor vehicle, and DUI.

He was placed in Schuylkill County Prison on $75,000 bail.
