SUV Towing Camper Overturns On Hometown Hill

A SUV Towing a campter overturned on the Hometown Hill Wednesday evening.


Around 6pm Monday evening, Hometown Fire along with Tamaqua Rescue and Quakake Fire were called to the area of Tuscarora Park Road and Cumberland Ave for a motor vehicle accident.

When they arrived they found an SUV towing a camper had overturned onto it's side.  All the occupants self extracted themselves and there were no injuries reported.

According to TamaquaArea.com, an unidentified passerby assisted the passengers escaping the vehicle with a knife to cut them from their seat belts.

There was also reportedly 6 cats and 1 dog which the family was traveling with that were lost after the accident but were found by volunteers  about an hour after the crash.

The Tamaqua Area Animal Rescue assisted in capturing the animals.
