Woman and Child Taken to Hospital After Crash in Tamaqua Wednesday

A woman and small child were taken to the hospital after their car crashed into the rear of two parked vehicles around 5:45 PM Wednesday (June 11, 2014) along East Broad Street (in front of Griffiths Funeral Home) in Tamaqua.


Officials on scene stated that the woman, driving a blue Ford Escort, was traveling west on East Broad Street (US209) when she swerved into the rear of red and tan Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck. That impact cause the pickup truck to be pushed forward and rear-end the back of a red Chevrolet Tahoe.

Responding were Tamaqua Ambulance, Lehighton Ambulance, Tamaqua Police, Tamaqua Rescue Squad, East End Fire Company and American Hose Company. Tamaqua Fire Police detoured traffic around the accident for the duration.

Hope’s Towing and Collision removed the vehicles.
