According to the Mahanoy Twp. Police Departments Facebook Page, Robert Trakes, of Mahanoy City, was arrested after he led Township police on chase that started in Mahanoy Twp. but ended in Mahanoy City. The chase started after Trakes committed a speeding violation. Once the chase ended, police found that Trakes was in possession of various drugs and drug paraphernalia.
The arresting officer, Officer Rentschler, arrested Trakes on charges of Fleeing and eluding a police officer, DUI, 3 counts of Misbranding of Medication or Prescription, 3 counts of Unlawful possession of a controlled substance, 3 counts of Possession of drug paraphernalia, 3 counts of duties at a stop sign, 5 counts of turning movements and required signals, careless driving, and maximum speed limits.
