Items Stolen from Vehicles Overnight in Mount Carmel

The following was posted by the Mount Carmel Police Department Saturday afternoon via their Facebook page


Mount Carmel Borough Police is investigating an incident that occurred at approximately 6:30 am on West Third Street in the Borough.

An African-american male was taken into custody after allegedly following a young female who was delivering news papers.

The male had in his possession an Amazon Kindle Tablet and a Tom Tom XL GPS with a Motorola vehicle charger.

The Kindle is password protected so we are unable to verify the owner.

If anyone is missing one of these items we have them in evidence and was ask that you contact us to verify your property.

Overnight we also had several vehicles that were gone through and items were taken.

All of the vehicles that were gone through were unlocked.

We ask that everyone lock your vehicles and not leave valuables inside.

If anyone saw any suspicious person(s) in the 500 Block of West Second Street, 400 Block of West Avenue or the 100 Block of West Railroad Street are asked to contact Mount Carmel PD through the Northumberland County Communications Center at 570-648-3868.
