Minersville Man Admits to Setting His Own House on Fire Thursday Night

A fire Thursday night in Minersville was reportedly started by the home's owner.


According to an article posted by the Republican Herald, Joseph Camillo Defalco, 43, of 415 N. Second Street is being charged  by Minersville Police with arson, risking catastrophe, and other offenses after he lit his own house on fire then went to his sister's house and told her what he had done.

Defalco was later apprehended.

As we reported last night, around 9:45pm, Thursday, a chief was called to investigate in the 400 block of 2nd Street in Minersville.

Shortly after it was reported as a working structure fire.  Fire crews from Minersville and Pottsville responded.

The fire was reported under control at 10:18pm.

The home's on either side of 415 N. Second Street also sustained damage.
