County Residents Upset Over Cable Provider Dropping Big Ten Network

Residents of Schuylkill County unhappy about cable provider dropping Big Ten Network.

We've been contacted by several residents of the county that they are unhappy with their cable provider and are looking for your help.

Metrocast Cable, which provides cable to Tamaqua, Brockton, Mary-D, and Zion Grove Areas, has upset customers after the Big Ten Network was dropped as one of the channels provided.

Subscribers lost the channel Sunday after the cable company was unable to reach a new contract with the Big Ten Network.   Residents are upset as Metrocast Cable is their only choice for cable and they cannot watch certain Penn State games only shown on the Big Ten Network.  They are also missing out of the opportunity to see the team's quarterback who has roots in the Tamaqua Area.

A call and email to the company was not returned at the time of writing of this article.

Anyone who would like to see the network back on and urge the cable provider to reach an agreement with the Big Ten Network is asked to contact the company at (800) 633-8578.
