“We have lived in our house for 30 some years and never had a problem,” said Kelly McGlinchey of West Rowe Street in Tamaqua. “So sad.”

Sometime Friday night (August 29, 2014) into Saturday morning, seven or more parked vehicles on West Rowe Street were “sprayed” with a corrosive chemical. The vandalism on West Rowe Street, a one-way street, stretched from the intersection of Nescopec Street to the intersection of Swatara Street.

Today, TamaquaArea.com counted seven vehicles on the street with corrosive damage. Four of the damaged vehicles were located at the east end of West Rowe Street; while three damaged vehicles were located at the far west end of the street. The total number of vehicles vandalized is unknown.

Earlier this month, about 20 other vehicles, to include the Tamaqua Fire Chief’s vehicle, were damaged in the same manner. Currently, no one was arrested for that crime. Click HERE to view that story.

Tamaqua Crime Watch is offering a one-time $250 cash reward for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of one or more of the vandals from either incident. Tamaqua Crime watch is also offering a one-time $75 cash reward for anyone who submits a useful photo or video which shows a crime taking place OR that leads to the arrest and conviction of a criminal in the borough.
