The incident, which occurred around 7 PM, involved a black Ford Escape driven by a female driver and a black Ford Focus driven by a vehicle driver.
Unconfirmed information provided from an official on scene stated that there were no other people in the vehicles and added that both vehicles were traveling southwest when the collision occurred.
Responding were Tamaqua Rescue Squad, Tuscarora Fire Company, Tamaqua Ambulance, and New England Fire Company. Tamaqua Fire Police controlled traffic around the scene.
State Police are investigating.
