If you are from the Ashland area, you may know "Martha" from the Turkey Hill Minit Market located at 1638 Centre St. in Ashland.  Whether you stopped in the store for your morning coffee or a pack of cigarettes, she always greeted you with a smile and as you left, told you to have a good day.

Last week, Martha was fired from her job at the convenient store, stemming from an incident where a Pottsville man attempted to steal items from the store.

The incident can be found in the Republican Herald's Police Log

Glowacki was not the employee listed in the report, but says when one of the other employees seen the man taking the items, that's when she went outside of the store. When she saw the man leaving, she said to him, "Are you going to pay for that?"  She says after she said that to the man, he attempted to go after her when another employee stepped in to protect her.

It was for the comment that Glowacki says she was fired.  She was told that she put her co-workers and customers in danger for the comment.

Friends of Martha's have now come to her aid and have created a Facebook for her friends/customers to rally behind her.

As of 1PM Wednesday, the group was up to 126 members and still growing.

Her friends ask that you sign her petition and show your support for Martha

We've attempted to contact Turkey Hill but have not received a response as of this writing.
