The Schuylkill County Courthouse was closed Friday morning and all county schools are on the alert after authorities received threats from a source claiming to be terrorists. According to Pottsville Police Chief Richard F. Wojciechowsky, two voice messages were left overnight on the Schuylkill County Courthouse telephone system. The messages, left by a male voice, warned that, if the courthouse is not evacuated by noon Friday, the caller's terrorist group would shoot up a school. Wojciechowsky said the courthouse was closed for safety reasons and all county school districts have been notified and are enacting advanced security measures. He said the Pottsville Police will have an extra presence during school dismissal today.

UPDATE - As of 12:10PM,  no schools have announced an early dismissal but some are providing additional law enforcement at dismissal.

Update: As of 12:45PM, St. Clair School District will be dismissing early at 1:15PM

UPDATE:  1:33PM, Gillingham Charter and Mahanoy Area have been added to early dismissals.  Blue Mountain reportedly is allowing parents to pickup their children early.
