Former Pottsville and Saint Clair Football Head Coach Passes Away

According to sources, former Pottsville Football Head Coach Bill Flynn passed away on Monday.


Flynn coached the Pottsville Crimson Tide Football team for 21 years (1958-1962, 1967-1983).  His overall record at Pottsville was (1603-70-6)

His career also included the following titles

  • Eastern Conference Class A Title (1978)
  • Southern Division Championship (1971, 1976, 1980)
He coached high school football for a total of 32 years which also included coaching at Saint Clair.

In September, Pottsville renamed it's press box in his honor.

He was also a part of the 1949 Notre Dame Football team that won the National Championship.

He was 87 years old.
