Restaurant Destroyed By Fire Friday Morning

Amberdeen's Fine Food and Bevarages, 62 North Lehigh Street, Frackville, was destroyed by fire Friday morning.


Fire personnel were called to the address just before 7AM and upgraded to a 2nd alarm.

The fire was reported to be under control just after 7:30am

The restaurant sustained the most damage and apartments above the restaurant were also damaged as well.

The Frackville Public Library and Compact Sweeper Company are reported to have had some smoke damage.

Route 924 was shut down while crews were at the scene.

No injuries were reported and no cause at this time.

Fire crews from Frackville, Englewood, Mahanoy City and Shenandoah fought the blaze while Pottsville and Mahanoy City's Rapid Intervention Teams were on hand to assist.

The American Red Cross was also on scene serving warm beverages to anyone who needed.
