Fatal Crash Near Hometown

Just after 5:30pm Friday evening, emergency personnel were called to Route 309 near Skipper Dippers, just north of Hometown, for a motor vehicle accident.

The water main break reported by the Minersville Borough on Wednesday has been repaired but water boil advisory is still in effect per the borough's Facebook page.

Brewer's Outlet to Close in Pottsville

After 51 years in business, the Brewer's Outlet is scheduled to close mid November.

The well known beer distributor announced via their Facebook page Thursday morning that they will close their doors on November 15th.

HARRISBURG - Attorney General Kathleen G. Kane today announced today that the latest sweep by agents from the Child Predator Section led to the arrest of eight suspected child predators from across the Commonwealth:

Rocket Launch Should Be Visible from Schuylkill County

NASA is launching a rocket that will carry supplies to the International Space Station this evening and the rocket should be visible once it takes to the skies.

The rocket is set to launch around 6:45pm and NASA says we should see what looks like an orange star with a small tail become visible between 1 to 3 minutes after launch.

No one was injured this afternoon (Wednesday, October 22, 2014) after the male driver of a pickup crashed into an unoccupied home on Lincoln Street in Tamaqua.

Ashland to Receive Loan for High-Hazard Dam Improvements

ASHLAND – Senator David G. Argall (R-29) and Representative Neal Goodman (D-123) announced a $1.675 million loan through the Pennsylvania Infrastructure and Investment Authority (PENNVEST) that will allow Ashland Borough to repair a high-hazard dam.

Woman Not Guilty for Mahanoy City Stabbing

A jury Wednesday afternoon found Kimberly Hous, 34, of Mahanoy City, not guilty for the stabbing death of Lawrence Quinn, 52. Quinn was Hous' mother's boyfriend.
