Is North Schuylkill Purchasing the Former Cardinal Brennan Campus?

A recent online post and newspaper article has raised the question whether North Schuylkill is purchasing Cardinal Brennan.   Here is what we know.


An online post was posted to social media that the district was interested in purchasing the building.  The post was found on

The post stated

The Cardinal Brennan Alumni board has just been informed that the North Schuylkill School District purchased the former Cardinal Brennan High School campus and surrounding complex for a reported price of one million dollars. Final transfer of deeds will take place in early February.


Attempts to reach the writer of this post did not get returned

Skook News spoke with Superintendent Robert Ackell on January 6th and he had the following comment

North Schuylkill did not buy Cardinal Brennan.

We also spoke with the Allentown Diocese on January 7th and they had the following the say

At this point, there is nothing to announce regarding the former Cardinal Brennan property.

The Republican Herald posted an article Saturday regarding the purchase 


Whether the purchase is in the works or these are just rumors, we will have to wait and see.
