Coal Region Connections: Bill O'Reilly and the Pennsylvania Coal Region
40 years ago, how many remember Bill O'Reilly when he was on WNEP Channel 16? We're told Bill did a little of everything back then--consumer affairs reporter, news reporter, news anchor, weatherman.
Like many aspiring journalists, Bill worked his way up the broadcast ladder. He entered the national spotlight in the late 80s as host of ABCs Inside Edition. Then, along came the upstart network called Fox & the conservative talk show host found a new home & new pinnacle of fame.
We were disappointed when Bill dropped his daily radio show in early 2009. Bill O'Reilly--The Radio Factor--was heard on over 400 radio stations including WLSH Lansford & reached well over 3.2 million listeners weekly.
It's always great to see someone with ties to the coal region make it to the big time. Hope you enjoyed the Bill O'Reilly pictures below.
