Crashes Cause Traffic Problems Thursday Morning


Numerous accidents were reported Thursday morning from slick roads around Schuylkill County.


The first accident was reported just after 5:30am between Locust Dale and Ashland along Route 54 involving a pickup truck that slid on a patch of ice and was stuck in a snow bank.  No injuries reported

Another accident was reported on Route 443 on Penn Drive in West Penn Township around 6:30am.  An SUV reportedly flipped and the occupant of the vehicle was entrapped.  Traffic was detoured around the accident.  Driver was taken to hospital for injuries.

An accident at the bottom of the Hometown Hill on Route 54 near Tamaqua on Route 309.  The accident occurred around 7:00am and involved a box truck and Cheverolet Avalanche.  The accident backed up traffic in both directions while it was cleaned up.
