Injured State Trooper's Name Released

On Friday afternoon, while a state trooper was assisting a disabled vehicle in the southbound lanes between Exit 124 and 119 on Interstate 81, he returned to his cruiser to a retrieve a fire extinguisher when another vehicle travelling south struck the back of the cruiser.


The trooper was critically injured and flown to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

The Republican Herald has named the trooper involved as Sgt. Robert E. Bemus.
