Man Suspected of Bath Salt Use After Resisting Arrest

A man is facing charges after resisting arrest in Shenandoah.


Dustin Makara, 32, Zion Grove, was charged by Shenandoah police with aggravated assault, simple assault, resisting arrest, recklessly endangering another person, criminal trespass and other summary offenses.

According to the Republican Herald, Makara was found to be acting strangely Monday and possibly under the influence of drugs.

After police attempted to give Makara a ride home, Makara became more combative and paranoid.  Officers took Makara to the police station where additional officers from surrounding communities were needed get Makara out of the vehicle.

After taking Makara to an area hospital for drug treatment, he was charged and placed into Schuylkill County Prison unable to post bail.
