Weather Conditions Bring Potential for Wildfires on Thursday

Thursday's forecast is looking beautiful as it might be our best day so far in 2015. It also brings the higher chance of wildfires.

Last week, the National Weather Service Issued a "Drought Watch" for 27 counties in Pennsylvania due to the lack of ground water.

On Thursday, the NWS issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Thursday to notify counties that with the nicer weather and wind and the nearly drought conditions the chance of a wildfire is higher.

"THERE IS AN ELEVATED POTENTIAL FOR WILDFIRE DEVELOPMENT AND SPREAD IN THE MUCH MILDER AIRMASS...ACCOMPANIED BY MODERATELY LOW AFTERNOON RELATIVE HUMIDITY...AND A GUSTY SOUTH TO SOUTHWEST WIND."
