Inmate Charged With Attempted Murder After Attacking Guard

An inmate at SCI-Mahanoy has been charged with attempted murder after he attacked a prison guard over the weekend.


According to WNEP and the Morning Call, William Cramer, 24, attacked a prison guard with a homemade "shank" Saturday morning.  The inmate reportedly slashed the guard in the neck and the arm.

The guard was taken to a local hospital for their injuries.

Kramer was convicted years prior for killing an inmate at the Cambria County Prison.

The Schuylkill County District Attorney's Office investigated and charged Cramer with attempted murder, assault by prisoner, aggravated assault, and other charges
