Frackville Police Take Woman into Safe Custody After Alleged Monroe County Carjacking

On Wednesday, the Frackville Police Department took a woman into safe custody after an alleged carjacking/kidnapping that started in Monroe County.

According to Frackville Police, the woman was apparently either kidnapped or carjacked at the Exxon station on Prospect Street in East Stroudsburg.  The suspect then travelled to Frackville stopping at the Unity Food Mart on S. Lehigh Street for gas.

The woman then escaped the vehicle and was able to call 911 when Frackville Police were dispatched to the gas station.

When the woman escaped, the suspect fled the scene and traveled south on Interstate 81, where it is reported the suspect crashed near Carlisle and was taken into custody.
