Schuylkill County Residents Asked to Stay Home

As the snow tapers off Saturday evening, Schuylkill County residents are asked to stay home.

Snowfall amounts ranged from 20 inches to 24 inches around Schuylkill County and crews are still working to clear area roads.

The Schuylkill County Emergency Management Agency asked all residents to stay home to allow crews to clear roads.

Schuylkill County Residents are asked to please stay at home and not travel unless it's is absolutely necessary. Most municipalities have enacted their snow emergency parking bans and are asking residents to stay off the roads. This is extremely important so that emergency crews can respond to calls. Most roads are impassable and plows crews cannot do their jobs if you're out on the road. PLEASE STAY HOME!

Most county boroughs like Mahanoy City, Shenandoah, and Tamaqua have either banned all vehicular traffic or extended their snow emergencies.  Some township back roads have not been plowed at all, so it's best to stay put.
