Shenandoah Man Facing Assault Charges

A Shenandoah man is facing assault charges.

Marquis Vaughan, 27, of 304 W New York St, Shenandoah has been charged with simple assault and harassment after striking his wife, Chanequa Vaughan.

According to Shenandoah Borough Police, on January 18th, 2016, police responded to the address where Chanequa, 30, reported that she had confronted Marquis regarding him having an affair. The confrontation turned physical when Marquis struck Chanequa in the forehead causing a laceration. She also reported that he struck her in the stomach and that she is five months pregnant.

Marquis was taken into custody and arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Christina Hale and committed to Schuylkill County Prison on $15,000.00 straight cash bail.
