Dense Fog Advisory Issued for Wednesday Morning

The National Weather Service has issued a Dense Fog Advisory for Schuylkill County and other counties in Central Pennsylvania.


DENSE FOG ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM EDT THIS MORNING... THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN STATE COLLEGE HAS ISSUED A DENSE FOG ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM EDT THIS MORNING.

 * TIMING...FOG COVERS MUCH OF THE AREA...AND IS ESPECIALLY THICK IN THE VALLEYS. IT WILL TAKE A WHILE TO DISSIPATE THIS MORNING...BUT CLOUDS ADVANCING FROM THE WEST AND WIND PICKING UP OUT OF THE SOUTHEAST WILL HELP TO IMPROVE VISIBILITY. 

* IMPACTS...SLOWED TRAVEL. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A DENSE FOG ADVISORY IS ISSUED WHEN WIDESPREAD DENSE FOG WILL SUBSTANTIALLY REDUCE VISIBILITIES...RESULTING IN HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS OVER MOST OF THE ADVISORY AREA. MOTORISTS ARE ADVISED TO SLOW DOWN...USE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS OR FOG LIGHTS... AND KEEP A SAFE DISTANCE FROM THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF YOU. CONSIDER ALLOWING EXTRA TIME TO REACH YOUR DESTINATION.
