Knoebels Named Favorite Amusement Park, Best Family Park, and Best Wooden Rollercoaster

Lombard, IL – Knoebels Amusement Resort dominated the results of the National Amusement Park Historical Association (NAPHA) 30th annual NAPHA Amusement Park and Attractions Survey. The NAPHA survey is the oldest of its type.

NAPHA members named Knoebels as their Favorite Traditional Amusement Park, the Best Park for Families, and designated the Phoenix as their Favorite Wood Roller Coaster. In addition, their Hallo-Fun, which is kicked off by their Phall Phunfest, was members’ favorite after season, post-summer seasonal event.

Other top attractions seizing the top ratings in the NAPHA 2015 survey include:
  • Favorite Theme Park: Walt Disney World (Lake Buena Vista, FL), for thirteen consecutive years.
  • Most Beautiful Park: Busch Gardens Williamsburg (Williamsburg, VA) for the 26th consecutive year.
  • Favorite Steel Roller Coaster: Millennium Force, Cedar Point (Sandusky, OH), since 2002.
  • Best New Attraction: Fury 325, Carowinds (Charlotte, NC).
“While perusing survey results is fun for enthusiasts,” noted NAPHA’s Survey Coordinator, Marlowe McClasky Futrell, “Parks also are interested in the findings, and many incorporate the results into their publicity materials.”

NAPHA members are typically experienced riders who have visited countless amusement parks and have ridden a diverse assortment of roller coasters and other rides. The average member has been to more than 125 different amusement parks and has ridden about 350 roller coasters.
