According to reports, a 26 year old Allentown man drowned around 2pm Sunday afternoon when he attempted to swim across the Schuylkill River near Peace Rock near Port Clinton.
The beach was closed for the afternoon and Fire Police were called to clear the rest of the people who were at the beach. The beach and area later opened.
The victim's name has not been released yet.
