Knoebels fun continues in September and October

Elysburg, PA – Though Labor Day weekend marked the end of the main summer season for Knoebels Amusement Resort, the fun still continues in September and October. With that being said, Knoebels is excited to announce its fall lineup of events, including: September weekends, Doggie Dive, Grandparents Day, Covered Bridge Festival, Knoebel Lumber 5K, Phoenix Phall Phunfest and Hallo-Fun.


The event dates and times, as well as a brief description of each include:

September Weekends: Knoebels will be open weekends in September (Saturdays from noon-8:00 p.m., and Sundays from noon-7:00 p.m.). Ride-all-day passes are available each of those weekends. On September 24, Knoebels will offer a “buy one today, get one in May” deal, where guests who purchase a ride-all-day pass for September 24 will receive a free pass to use any day ride-all-day passes are offered in May of 2017. The park is closed the weekend of October 1 and 2.

Doggie Dive: Sunday, September 11, 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. - Knoebels Amusement Resort will host its annual Doggie Dive at the Crystal Pool. Proceeds from the event will benefit a local animal shelter. In addition to the dive itself, guests can take part in a Chinese Auction, bake sale, visit with rescue organizations and enjoy vendors. Early registration is $8 per dog; $10 per dog on the day of the event. Human guests are invited to the event at no charge, as the pool will be closed for the regular season. In order to ensure a safe event, rabies tags and licenses are required for all dogs, all dogs must have collars on, and leashes must be on hand by owner. There is a limit of one dog per handler and we ask that aggressive dogs do not attend the event. Registration forms and more info can be found at www.knoebels.com/events.

Grandparents’ Day: Sunday, September 11, 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. - A brand new event for this year, Grandparents Day is the perfect way to celebrate those “grand” people in your life. Strike a pose at the special "Grandparents Day" photo booth across from Phoenix roller coaster. Then, visitors can stop by any Knoebels souvenir photo center to pick up their free keepsake photo.

Covered Bridge Festival: October 6-9, Thursday-Saturday 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.; Sunday 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. – The Annual Covered Bridge Festival, sponsored by Columbia-Montour Visitors Bureau, features more than 380 craft vendors, 38 food vendors and rides for the whole family to enjoy. Free entertainment can also be enjoyed at the Hawaiian Bandshell each day of the festival. For more information, visit www.itourcolumbiamontour.com. Knoebel Lumber 5K: Saturday, October 8, 9:30 a.m. - Knoebel Lumber will host its 23rd annual 5K race. Registration will be held 7:30-8:45 a.m.; Race begins at 9:30 a.m. – All proceeds benefit Ralpho Township Public Library. The fee for the event is $15.00 by September 9 and $20.00 from September 10 through the day of the race. All pre-entry forms must be postmarked by September 10. The race begins at Pavilion L and is a moderately hilly 5K of mixed gravel and asphalt. An official race t-shirt is provided to those who register by September 10 and prizes are awarded to top finishers. Participants can register online. Phoenix Phall Phunfest: Saturday, October 8; Exclusive event on Friday, October 7 –Phoenix Phall Phunfest is a very special event for roller coaster and amusement park enthusiasts. Pre-registered enthusiasts from one of the approved coaster clubs or organizations can kick off their Friday night with a special three hour event at Phoenix courtyard that includes exclusive ride time, live music, and light snacks and refreshments. Saturday Phoenix Phall Phunfest happenings includes a Souvenir Swap Meet, food, rides, games, a costume parade (with prizes) and a bonfire. A current, valid coaster club ID card is required at check-in to gain access to Friday's exclusive event, along with Saturday's Phunfest Coupon Pack (which also requires purchase of a pay-one-price plan). Special Phunfest shirts will be available for purchase in the Chalet Gift Haus. Hallo-Fun: October 14-16, 21-23, and 28-30 – Fridays 6:00-10:00 p.m., Saturdays 2:00-10:00 p.m., Sundays noon-5:00 p.m. – Knoebels Amusement Resort transforms into a spooktacular great time for the entire family. Visitors can experience tasty treats, thrilling games, freaktastic attractions and of course a selection of Knoebels’ hallo-riffic rides. Guests can purchase pay-one-price plans each day of Hallo-Fun operation. Several new features have been added to this year’s Hallo-Fun including character breakfast on Sunday mornings (reservation only), Zombie Elimination at Lazer Command, pumpkin painting and cookie decorating on both Saturday and Sunday, and a special ride appearance.
