Schuylkill County Republican Committee Elects New Chairman

POTTSVILLE, PA – The Schuylkill County Republican Committee unanimously elected Brock Stein to be its chairman at its meeting on November 5th, 2016.
Gary Bender, of Porter Township, stepped down as chairman to become County Administrator.

Howard Merrick of Pottsville will continue to serve as Vice Chairman, as well as the four Assistant Chairs: Bob Bylone, Champ Holman, Mary Labert, and Tom Sachleben. Bob Ames will continue as Executive Director. Norm Lettich will continue to serve as Treasurer and Dan Daub will continue to serve as the Committee’s Secretary.

Stein, a West Brunswick Township resident, is currently the Vice President of Strategic Development at Koch’s Turkey Farms and has served for several years as a local committee member and district leader for the Republican Party. After graduating from Tamaqua High School, Brock graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Finance. He sits on the board of directors for the Blue Mountain Eagle Foundation, Orwigsburg Area Free Public Library, the Schuylkill County Municipal Authority, the Schuylkill Economic Development Corporation, Tamaqua Area Community Partnership, and Schuylkill County’s VISION. In addition, he is a member of the Orwigsburg Lions Club, the YMCA Dinner Committee, an instructor for the Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!), and a volunteer for Make-A-Wish.

Chairman Stein’s primary goals for the Schuylkill County Republican Committee are increased community outreach and communications and strengthening the foundation of the Republican Party across generations with continuing voter registration efforts in all areas of the county.

At the county meeting, Stein thanked Chairman Bender and each of the other county party officers for their successful tenure which has in the past few years greatly increased the number of local Republican voters and elected officials at the local, county and state levels of government.
