Two Injured, One Flown After Interstate 81 Crash on Tuesday

Two people were injured, with one being flown, after a crash on Interstate 81 Tuesday afternoon.

Around 3:30pm, Tuesday, emergency personnel were called to the northbound lanes of Interstate 81 near Milemarker 138 for a one vehicle accident with rollover.

The Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville report that the driver of the vehicle Rodney Williamson, 26, of Bladensburg, MD fell asleep while driving and drifted off the left side of the highway, struck a ditch, then climbed partially up an embankment rolling the vehicle several times.

The vehicle came to a rest on its roof on the left shoulder of the northbound lanes.

Both Williamson and a passenger, Casaundra Bouldin, 25 of Bowie, MD were able to escape the vehicle on their own.

Williamson was reported to have suffered serious injures and was flown via medevac helicopter.   Bouldin was transported via Ryan Township Ambulance.

Both were reported to be wearing their seatbelts.
