Clarence R. Yeager , 88, of Frackville, died Wednesday at Broad Mountain Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Mahanoy Twp., May 17, 1928, He was a son of the late Clarence and Helen (Swinnick) Yeager.

Clarence R. Yeager served in the US Army in WWII.

He was a Roll Bench Operator at United Metal Receptacle, Pottsville and a self-employed auto body mechanic.

He was a member of St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Frackville , Goodwill Hose Company; Frackville American Legion Post 398, and Disabled American Veterans.

He was preceded in death by his wife Ann (Pavlishin) Yeager in 2015; a sister Sally Fenstermacher.

Surviving are two daughters, Sandra A. Usalis of Autryville, NC; Kathleen A. Gwiazdowski and her husband, Thomas of Leesport; two sons, Robert R. Yeager and his wife Barbara Peel-Yeager of Pottsville, Eugene Yeager and his wife, Jeannie of Sacramento, CA; seven grandchildren, David K. Gerlott, Nicole A. Lightcap, Jessica L. Newman, Colin Gwiazdowksi, Anna Kate Gwiazdowski, Jenna M. Yeager and Madeline Yeager; seven great-grandchildren, Michael, Steven, Christopher, Kaitlyn, Christina, Noah and Haydyn; nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held Monday 9:30AM from Nice Hart Funeral Home Inc. 9 N. Lehigh Ave. Frackville PA 17931. Devine Liturgy will follow at 10:00 AM at St. Michael Ukrainian Catholic Church, 45 S. 2nd St. Frackville with Rev. Petro Zvarych officiating. Friends may call from 6:00PM-8:00PM Sunday with Parastas at 7:00 PM and 9:00-9:30 AM Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hillside SPCA PO Box 233 Pottsville, PA 17901. Burial with military honors will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville at a later date.

Joseph J. Faenza , 72, of 25 East Street, Port Carbon, died Thursday at home surrounded by his family from injuries sustained in a car accident.

Born in Summit Hill, December 29, 1944, He was a son of the late Ralph and Myrle Faenza.

He retired as a Drywall Finisher from Gary Krammes Drywall, Pine Grove.

He was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, St. Clair.

He was preceded in death by son Kevin Faenza; step-daughter Michele Tomko; sister Sylvia Faenza and his faithful companion Sparky.

Surviving are his wife of 32 years Joann (Kovich) Faenza; sons Joseph Faenza of Coaldale; Thomas Faenza of Minersville; Robert J. Faenza of Harrisburg; Step Son Michael Tomko of Port Carbon; 3 Brothers William Faenza of Andreas; Donald Faenza of Coaldale; Theodore Faenza of Summit Hill; a sister Marilyn Markey of Summit Hill; 5 Grandchildren Joshua, Joseph, Amanda and Michael and J.R. 2 Great Grandchildren Jovie and Conner. Nieces and Nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday from St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, 250 E. Hancock St. St. Clair, PA 17970 with Msgr. William F. Glosser officiating. Friends may call from 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM Tuesday at Bruce T. Hart Funeral Home 110 N. Second St. Saint Clair. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Clare of Assisi Memorial Fund at the above address. Burial will be in St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, St. Clair.

Edward C. Maffeo, 72, of Cressona, passed away Thursday, January 19th, at his residence.

Edward was born in Pottsville on December 3, 1944, a son of the late Bernice M. (Sticher) and Carl P. Maffeo.

He was the husband of Jean (Becker) Maffeo.

He was a member of St. Mark's United Church of Christ Cressona, Cressona Lodge #222 where he served as Past Master, Life Member of Cressona Legion #286 and former Scout Master Cressona Unit #630.

He served in the U.S. Navy as a RM3.

He was employed by R & J Bus Tours as a tour director.

Ed was a graduate of Blue Mountain High School, Class of 1962.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters Michele M. Smith wife of Leonard, Auburn and Tara S. Parker wife of Michael, Hummelstown; a son Michael E. Maffeo, Myrtle Beach; grandchildren Cole Smith, Brennan Maffeo, Mya Smith, Autumn Parker and Stone Parker; brothers Carl and Jim Maffeo; sister Marcie Hipp; nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home, Inc. , Schuylkill Haven, at 10:30 am on Monday, January 23rd, with Rev. Bruce Dalious officiating and Rev. Karl Jones co-officiating.

A viewing for family and friends will be held Sunday evening from 6-8 pm and Monday morning 9:30 am until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Interment will be held privately, at a later date at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
