Robert J. Roper, 66, Frackville, passed away peacefully Wednesday at Tremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Tremont.

Born in Frackville he was a son of the late Alfred B. and Elizabeth ( Klock ) Roper.

Bob is survived by his brother Dr. Alfred and his wife Elizabeth Roper, Maine and his sister Barbara wife of Paul Wetzel, Ashland, 3 nieces, 2 nephews and 2 great-nieces.

Funeral services and interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

Nancy Ann Wolfgang, 79, of Main Street, Lavelle,PA passed away Tuesday, January 3rd, 2017 at her home.

Born in Mt. Carmel,PA July 25,1937 the daughter of the late Fred W. and Hilda (Scheuren) Herb. She was preceded in death by her husband Lester Wolfgang, to whom she was married to for 60 years, in March 2015 and he was the love of her life. 

She was the proud mother of three children, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Two daughters and a son survive: Tina wife of Dennis Wolf of Lavelle,PA; Kim Wylie of Mt. Carmel,PA and John Wolfgang of Torrance,CA.

Two sisters and a brother survive:Sarah Shanks of Redondo Beach,CA., Linda Szuler of Elysburg,PA and Fred and his wife Helen Herb of Locustdale,PA.
Grandchildren: Jessica Wright, Breann Barker, Katrina and Kaitlyn Wylie, Christopher and Benjamin. Great grandchildren: Dylan Barker, Kevin Wright and Declan Barker. Preceding her in death was a grandson: Matthew Wolfgang, September 2016. Nieces and nephews survive.
A Memorial Service will be held in Christ's United Lutheran Church, Airport Road, Ashland, PA, at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 7th,2017. Rev. Dr. Kim Lengert officiating.

Zella I. Jackson, 87, formerly of Arnot's Addition, Saint Clair, passed away Tuesday at Rosewood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where she had been a resident.

Born in Pine Grove, Oct. 23, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Martha Nagle Brown.

She was widowed twice, by first husband, Alfred Jacoby Sr., and second husband, Alvin Jackson Sr.

Zella was formerly employed as a machine operator at Union Knit, Schuylkill Haven, also as a school crossing guard in Arnot's Addition. In her earlier years, Zella enjoyed spending time in her garden planting flowers and vegetables. She also enjoyed any amount of time she had with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and first and second husband, she is also preceded in death by son, Alfred Jacoby Jr.; four brothers Carl, Paul, Michael and Dean; a sister, Verdie M. Brown.

She is survived by two daughters, Karen Laeh, Pottsville, and Christine Shipe, Port Carbon; three sons, Barry Jacoby, Pottsville, Alvin Jackson Jr., Saint Clair, and Roger Jackson, Pottsville; 16 grandchildren; great-grandchildren; brothers, Daniel, Harold, Ray, David and Kerry; sisters. Shirley, Linda, June, Joyce and Kathryn; nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Celebration of Life funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home Inc., Schuylkill Haven, by Pastor Alex DuBee. A viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.

June F. Moran, 92, of Pottsville, passed away on Monday at her home surrounded by her family.

Born August 12, 1924, in Pottsville, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Helen Coulson.

She was a 1943 graduate of Pottsville High School and a member of St. Patrick R.C.C., Pottsville.

June worked for many years for the Van Heusen Shirt Factory in Pottsville. She loved listening to her vast music collection, including Bing Crosby and Eddie Arnold - her two favorites and looked forward to her evening ice cream treat.

She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her husband, Edward, to whom she was married 54 years, passed away in April 2000 and was the love of her life. Together they raised three children, Bonnie, Peg, and Bill in their Pottsville home of 70 years.

June was preceded in death by: her son-in-law, J. William Norton; her sister, Francis Palko, wife of the late John Palko; her brother William Coulson and his late wife, Marge.

She is survived by her three children: Bonnie Norton; Margaret (Peggy) Reber, wife of Earl; and William Moran, husband of Karen; seven grandchildren, Sharon Rossi, wife of Ken; Kimberly Kimber, wife of William; Amy Brobst, wife of Mark; Michael Reber; Neal Moran; Kurt Moran, husband of Marianne; Kate Dagon, wife of Scott; eleven great-grandchildren, Tyler, Kenny and Joey Rossi; Kyla and Jaidin Brobst; Sadie, Timmy, Joshua, and Emily Kimber; and Gabrielle and Natalie Moran; sister Betty Uranko, wife of the late Joseph Uranko; brothers: James and Joseph Coulson and his wife Mary Alice; and sixteen nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 6th at 2:00 p.m. at St. Patrick R.C.C, 319 Mahantongo St., Pottsville. A viewing will be held in the church from 12:30 p.m. until time of service.

Interment will follow in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Pottsville.

Janet S. Bensinger, 81, of Orwigsburg, passed away Monday, January 2nd, at her residence.

Born in Pottsville, PA on January 16, 1935, a daughter of the late Elizabeth (Nabor) Harron and Malcolm Harron.

She was the wife of Norman Bensinger. The married March 16th, 1991

Janet graduated from Pottsville High School in 1956

And she worked as a Trimmer for both Schuylkill Haven Casket Companies.

She was a past member of Eastern Star and she was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan.

She was predeceased by her son John David Starr II and daughter Linda Elizabeth Starr. 4 Grandchildren, 1 Great Grandchild and her sister Martha Jenkins.

A Religious Service will be held at 11:00 on Tuesday, January 10th at Hamilton-Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. in Orwigsburg, PA. Friends are invited to call from 9:30 until time of service.

David G. Jenkins, 60, of Oneida, passed away on January 1, 2017.

Born in Washington, DC, on October 28, 1956, he was a son of the late Nancy (Berdanier) and David Jenkins.

After graduating from the North Schuylkill High School, he entered into the military, serving as a Seargent in the United States Air Force. He was a proud American citizen and had the utmost respect for his country and those who serve to protect it. He was a member of the Frackville American Legion, and also the Sheppton Legion, where he served in the honor guard. He was a gun enthusiast and member of the National Rifle Association.

David last worked as a over the road truck driver and was a member of the former Christ Episcopal Church in Frackville.

He was a fan of classic rock, and a musician being the former drummer of several local bands including Section 8, Maiden Voyage, Tyr and Midnight Asylum . He met his future wife Karen while performing in the band Round About.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Karen L. (Widitz) Jenkins, a sister, Desiree Senechal, of Oregon; and two brothers, Bob, and his wife Janine Jenkins, of Frackville and Mike Jenkins, also of Frackville.

Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, at 11:30 AM on Monday, January 9th. Visitation with David's family will be from 10 AM until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home.

Interment with full military honors will follow at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville at 1:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.

Ralph S. Corwin, 44, of Wiconisco, passed away Monday, January 2nd at his home.

Born in Neptune, NJ, a son of Ralph Corwin, New Jersey and Nancy Kurtanick, Williamstown.

Ralph resided in Shark River Hills, NJ, until the age of 12, before moving to Pennsylvania. He attended Williams Valley High School. He was of the Catholic faith.

He enjoyed listening to music, playing his guitar and a avid fan of the New York Giants.

Surviving in addition to his parents are, his daughter, Kaycee Corwin and her companion, Greg Fisler, Carlisle; a grandson, Julien Fisler; a brother, Joseph Corwin, Wiconisco; two sisters, Sandy Lear, Klingerstown and Michelle Kettle, New Jersey; companion with whom he resided, Justina Small. Nieces, nephews and friends.
