Man Taken into Custody on Robbery Warrant

ASHLAND - On Wednesday morning, around 8:30am Ashland Police Chief along with Sheriff Joseph Groody took Melvin Rodney Brown, 1739 Walnut Street , Ashland into custody on North 18th Street on a felony robbery warrant issued by Frackville Police Department. Brown was taken at gunpoint without incident.

Brown was transferred to Frackville Police Department’s custody shortly thereafter for arraignment at Magisterial District Judge Christina Hale’s office. 

Police Respond to Psychiatric Patient

ASHLAND - On Wednesday morning, around 11:00am, Ashland Police responded to a psychiatic patient at 16 Centre Street Court.  The male patient was transported by Ashland EMS to a local hospital for evaluation.

Ashland Police was assisted by Police from Butler Township, Shenandoah, Frackville, Cass Township, and the Sheriff's Department.
