No Injuries Reported in Early Saturday Morning Crash

No injuries reported in early Saturday Morning crash on the Gold Star Highway.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, around 5:50am, a vehicle driven by Jose Batista Marte, of Shenandoah, was traveling southbound in the passing lane of the Gold Star Highway, near Gilberton.  Edward Fegley, of Mount Carmel, was traveling in the right lane.

Police say Batista Marte's vehicle hit a concrete raised median strip dividing the southbound lanes from the northbound.

Batista Marte reacted by slamming on his brakes and swerving to the right, causing Fegley to hit his brakes and swerve.

Both vehicles made contact spinning Batista Marte.

No injuries occurred in the accident but both vehicles needed to be towed from the scene.
