Mildred M. Mauro, 99, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Wednesday, February 1st, at Rosewood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Schuylkill Haven on August 10, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Giuseppe & Lucia (Loungo) Mauro, who were Italian immigrants.

She was a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven, and St. Ambrose Sodality.

Mildred was a member of Schuylkill Haven Senior Citizens. She also helped pack meals for the Meals on Wheels program until she was 95 years old.

Mildred was employed for Sol Enterprise until retiring. She then worked in the local garment industry.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Mildred was preceded in death by her companion, Carl Eroh, nephew & godson, Anthony Mauro, Jr., and sisters; Mary Romano and Viola Tippett, brother, Anthony Mauro, Sr.

She is survived by her caregiver & great-niece, Cynthia Sowers, wife of William, Auburn, nieces: Anna Myers, Orwigsburg, Lucia Boutselis, Cressona, Lucille Blickley, Schuylkill Haven, Lucille May, Dunn, NC, and niece & goddaughter, Mary Louise Slane, Lancaster, and several great nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven, at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 9th.

A vieiwng will be held Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m in the church's chapel.

Interment will be held privately at the family's convenience.
