Matilda Fudge, 95 years of age of Lafayette Street, Tamaqua, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 19, 2017, at St. Luke's Miners Memorial in Coaldale, widow of Thomas J. Fudge, Sr. who passed away on March 29, 2013.

Surviving are sons, Thomas J. Fudge, Jr. and his wife Dolores of Perkasie, and Timothy E. Fudge and his wife Diane of Tamaqua, as well as nieces and nephews.

A graduate of Tamaqua High School, Matilda was a member of St. John XXIII R.C.C. of Tamaqua having been active in the C.W.E.A of the church. An avid reader, Matilda enjoyed camping, and baking. She and her later husband traveled extensively.

Born Tuesday, August 16, 1921 in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Joseph, and Eva (Malazinsky) Valentine. She was also predeceased by sisters, Mrs. Angela Cervino, and Miss Stella Valentine; brother, Mr. Edward Valentine.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Friday March 24, 2016 from SS. Peter & Paul R.C.C. Parish of St. John XXIII located at 301 Pine Street Tamaqua, Pennsylvania 18252.

Anna Marie Flynn, 76, Girardville, passed away unexpectedly Saturday morning at her home.

Born in Philadelphia she was a daughter of the late Francis and Carmella ( Fiortino ) Destasio. She had worked as a cashier for most of her life.

She was preceded in death by her brother Francis Destasio.

Anna Marie is survived by her husband of 36 years John J. Flynn, her son Vincent and his wife Diana Bomento, Philadelphia, her daughters; Angela Oraski, Rosanne wife of Jim Capatino , Carmen Bomento all of Philadelphia and Antoinette Bomento, Deptford, NJ, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.

Edward Michael Wade, age 81, of Rawlings, MD, formerly of Pottsville, passed away Friday, March 17th, 2017 at his home.

Born in Pottsville, PA on May 19, 1935, he was the son of the late Harold and Anna (Post) Wade.

Ed was a graduate from Pottsville Catholic High School in 1953. He served honorably in the US Air Force from 1954-1958. Ed would then earn a Masters Degree in Education first working in upstate New York as an art teacher, teaching K through 6 then moved on to teaching grades 7 through 12. In 1974 he started teaching at the college level at Potomac State College in Keyser, WV, this would be where he would retire after 26 years of teaching (May 2000).

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Joseph and Stephen Wade and a sister Dolores Barnes.

Ed is survived by a son Christopher Edward Wade and his wife Stephanie, LaVale, MD; a daughter Jennifer Marie Reese and her husband Paul, Gaithersburg, MD; 5 grandchildren: Dan, Nick, and Sean Wade; and Megan and Brady Reese; four brothers: William Wade, Pottsville, PA; Vincent Wade, St. Clair, PA; Patrick Wade, Schuylkill Haven, PA; and Leonard Wade, Pottsville, PA; three sisters: Joanne Everdale, Port Carbon, PA; Mary Troutman, Minersville, PA; and Loretta Snitzer, Port Carbon, PA; and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Pottsville, PA. at 10:30AM on Thursday, March 23rd, 2017.

Relatives and Friends are invited to a viewing on Thursday morning from 9-10AM at Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home 208 Pike St., Port Carbon, PA.

Interment with Military Honors will be held in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery in Pottsville, PA.
