Snow Squalls Impacting Schuylkill County Friday Afternoon

(03/03/17) Snow squalls will be crossing Schuylkill County Friday afternoon and could impact travel.

The National Weather Service issued the following statement:

A DANGEROUS SNOW SQUALL WILL AFFECT PARTS OF PERRY... UNION... NORTHUMBERLAND... JUNIATA... LEBANON... DAUPHIN... MIFFLIN... SNYDER... SOUTHERN CENTRE... AND SCHUYLKILL COUNTIES...

HAZARDS... A DANGEROUS SNOW SQUALL WHICH CAN RAPIDLY REDUCE VISIBILITY TO LESS THAN A QUARTER OF A MILE. LOCATION AND MOVEMENT... 

AT 1252 PM EST, DANGEROUS SNOW SQUALLS WERE ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM NEAR REBUCK TO NEAR MILLERSBURG TO NEAR MCALISTERVILLE AND MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 30 MPH. 

THIS DANGEROUS SQUALL WILL BE NEAR... LECK KILL, ELIZABETHVILLE AND MILLERSBURG AROUND 100 PM EST. KLINGERSTOWN AROUND 105 PM EST. DEHART DAM AND LYKENS AROUND 110 PM EST. WILLIAMSTOWN AND FORT INDIANTOWN GAP AROUND 115 PM EST. TOWER CITY, NEWPORT AND DONALDSON AROUND 120 PM EST. PENN NATIONAL RACE COURSE, HARPER TAVERN AND TREMONT AROUND 125 PM EST. 

THIS INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING INTERSTATES... INTERSTATE 78 FROM MILE MARKERS 0 TO 8. INTERSTATE 81 FROM MILE MARKERS 81 TO 110.
