Flood Advisory Extended Until This Evening

The National Weather Service has extended the Flood Advisory until later Thursday evening.

Montour County in central Pennsylvania...
Columbia County in central Pennsylvania...

Sullivan County in north central Pennsylvania...
Tioga County in north central Pennsylvania...

* Until 1045 PM EDT

At 741 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain that will cause minor flooding in the advisory area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Northumberland, Williamsport, St. Clair, Minersville, Frackville,
Milton, Bloomsburg, Sunbury, Kulpmont, Mifflinburg, Schuylkill
Haven, Shenandoah, Mount Carmel, Tamaqua, Montoursville, Wellsboro,
Mahanoy City, Berwick, Shamokin and Lewisburg.

Additional rainfall is expected over the area this evening. This
additional rain will result in minor flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.

A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
