Truck Driver to Be Cited After Equipment Falls Off Trailer on Interstate

A truck driver will be cited after an incident on Interstate 81 Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, around 4:30pm, a tractor trailer driven by Alexander Davis, of Lowville, NY was travelling North near Milemarker 113.5 on Interstate 81, in Foster Township.

Police say the dunnage straps holding down equipment on the flatbed trailer of Davis's truck came loose and continued north.

Multiple truck operators noticed the loose straps and attempted to contact Davis via CB radio.

A piece of equipment load broke away from Davis's  trailer and hit the radiator of another truck driven by Joseph Hettich, of Honesdale.

Davis then reportedly fled northbound and was later stopped near Milemarker 138.

Davis will be cited for the incident.
