Michael R. Opuda, 59, Girardville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday at Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest, Allentown.

Born in Ashland, he was the son of Florence Zugzda Opuda, Girardville and the late Michael Opuda.

Michael was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Learning Center, Pottsville

He is survived by his mother Florence Opuda, Girardville.

Funeral services will be held at the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home on Monday at 9:30 a.m. with Fr. Paul Rothermel, officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday morning from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service.


Interment will be held in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery, Frackville.

Catherine A. “ Kay" Hartshorne, 69 years of age of Schuylkill Ave. Tamaqua, passed away peacefully on Thursday May 4, 2017 at St. Luke’s University Hospital in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Survived by; her husband of forty-seven years, Gregory W. Hartshorne; daughter, Jennifer A Belts and her husband Richard of Tamaqua; son, Gregory W Hartshorne, Jr. And his wife Jennifer of Groverton, Georgia; brother, Patrick E. Magnen of St. Petersburg, Fl.; 5 grandchildren.

A 1966 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Washington D.C., Kay matriculated to the Franklin School of Science & Arts earning her certification as a Phlebotomist. Kay worked for various primary care physicians in Tamaqua, and was a member of the National Phlebotomy Association.

Devoted to her family, Kay’s summer haunt was spending time at The Bungalow, Tamaqua's community pool.

Born in Washington D.C., the daughter of the late Phillip E., and Louise K.(Kincheloe) Magnen.

Dorothea L. Foster, age 69, of St. Clair, PA passed away Wednesday, May 3rd, 2017 at Schuylkill Center in Pottsville.

Born in Pottsville, PA on January 8, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Thomas G. and Ida (Blakeslee) Webb.

Dorothea worked Saint Clair Garment and the Van Heusen in Schuylkill Haven and last for JDM in Saint Clair.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Raymond J. Foster on April 14, 2016 and 3 sisters: Janice Martin; Elaine Parry; and Carol DeFalco.

Dorothea is survived by 2 sons: Francis J. Foster and his wife Michelle, St. Clair and Thomas G. Foster, Florida; 2 grandsons: Anthony Foster and his wife Marisa and Aric Foster and his fiance' Makenna; a granddaughter Angelina Foster; 4 great-grandchildren: Nevaeh, Arriella, Dalilah, and Everett; 2 brothers: James Webb, Schuylkill Haven and Rev. Wally Webb, Maine; nieces and nephews; and her best friend Buddy Jackson.

A Religious Service will be held at the Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home, 208 Pike St., Port Carbon at 10:30AM on Tuesday, May 9th, with Rev. Ronald Minner officiating.

Relatives and Friends are invited to a viewing on Tuesday morning from 9-10:30AM at the Funeral Home.

Interment will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Saint Clair.
