Schuylkill Mall Tenants Update Customers on their Future

After the Schuylkill Mall tenants were notified earlier this week that they have 60-90 days to close, and have begun to tell their customers what their future holds.

Even though the Schuylkill Mall has slowly declined, there are still over a dozen tenants remaining in the mall that customers have remained faithful too.

Possibly the biggest draw to the mall in the past few years has been the Pearl Movie Theater.  Whenever any kind of news was made public about the mall, the question always came up of "What about the movie theater?".

After Tuesday's announcement, we contacted the theater owners, Bruce Taffet and Gina DiSanto, who provided us with the following announcement.

Pearl Theatre Stadium 8 will remain open and showing first run movies throughout the summer and into September.

We will also be offering the Free Kiddie Movie Camp Showing a free movie every Wednesday throughout the summer for the community's enjoyment.

Change happens and many changes are good. We are looking in the local area for a larger and more convenient location.

The only restaurant left inside the mall, Suglia's Pizza, also announced that they will be moving to a new location in Butler Township later this summer.

We will be relocating to Fountain Springs, the old "Alfredos" near North Schuylkill High School sometime during the end of the summer. We are staying open at the mall until further notice. We will start to see some construction to the new building sometime next week. Thank you everyone for your support, and we will keep you posted.

Holly Brutts, owner of Urban Hairstylists, announced they will remain open for the 90 days and in the meantime will be looking for a future location.

Vertigo Systems manager, Ryan Blakeslee, tells us that they will remain open in the mall until August or later and are looking for a new location in the Frackville area.

AT&T has been reported to stay open until September 30th.  A new location has not been determined.

Dunhams Sports and Brackney Leather are reported to relocate but not location has been determined.

Rebekah’s Creations is reported relocate to 203 W. Market St., Pottsville.

According to Blum's Auction, they will be holding 3 more auctions at the mall: June 3, July 1, and August 5.

They have 23 employees and plan on looking for a new location within Schuylkill County.

Other stores not listed have had no comment or we were unable to get in touch with them.
