Strong Storms to Cross Schuylkill County Monday Morning

(05/29/17) By 9:00am, a line of strong storms will cross Schuylkill County.

The National Weather Service has issued the following statement:

AT 801 AM EDT, DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED STRONG THUNDERSTORMS ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM KNOEBELS GROVE TO NEAR TOWER CITY TO NEAR MIDDLETOWN.

MOVEMENT WAS EAST AT 30 MPH. PEA SIZE HAIL AND BRIEF WIND GUSTS BETWEEN 30 AND 40 MPH ARE POSSIBLE. RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF AROUND ONE-HALF OF AN INCH IN 30 MINUTES ARE LIKELY.

LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE... CORNWALL, ST. CLAIR, MYERSTOWN, MINERSVILLE, PALMYRA, MAHANOY CITY, ANNVILLE, FRACKVILLE, LEBANON, HUMMELSTOWN, SHAMOKIN, HERSHEY, KULPMONT, POTTSVILLE, SCHUYLKILL HAVEN, SHENANDOAH, MIDDLETOWN, ASHLAND, MOUNT CARMEL AND BERWICK.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... MINOR FLOODING MAY DEVELOP. DO NOT DRIVE INTO WATER COVERING THE ROADWAY. PERSONS IN CAMPGROUNDS SHOULD CONSIDER SEEKING STURDY SHELTER UNTIL THESE STORMS PASS
