Frank Flaim, 96, of Mahanoy City, PA, passed away peacefully June 3rd at Manor Care Health Services Pottsville.

Frank was born in Buck Mountain, PA on February 23, 1921, son of the late Anna (Preti) and Victor Flaim.

He was a member of Saint Casimir Parish and later Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish Mahanoy City, PA

Frank was a proud member of the U.S. Air Force serving in the Pacific Theatre during World War II

After completing his military service, Frank and his brothers went into the coal mining business. His next endeavor was proud owner and operator of Flaim's Grocery Store for over 30 years.

Frank was a former President of the Men of Marian, past President of the TPA, and member of the Holy Name Society.

Frank graduated from Mahanoy Township High School Class of 1938.

Frank is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Jean (Piech) Flaim, a daughter, Suzanne Krasnisky, of Lansdale; a son,Frank Flaim, of Exton; a sister, Elizabeth, wife of Emil Gnall, of Buck Mountain; two brothers, John, husband of Anita Flaim, of Dumont, NJ; Louis, husband of Rose Flaim, of Mahanoy City.

He is also survived by 6 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren.

Frank is preceded in death by brothers Victor, Alfred and James and sisters Christine Shaup, Maddalena Mogish, Valentine "Dolly" Mogish, and Anna Pedriani.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish, Mahanoy City, PA, at 10:30 AM on Saturday, June 10th, with Rev. Kevin P. Gallagher and Rev. Leo Maletz officiating.

Friends may call Saturday 9AM at Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish.

Interment will follow at St. Casimir Cemetery Mahanoy City, PA.

Shirley Mae Benner, age 87, of Pine Grove, formerly of Valley View, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2017 at the Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center, Tremont.

She was born on Saturday, February 15, 1930, in Ashland, a daughter of the late Elwood A Zeplin and the late Margaret Roche Zeplin.

Shirley was a 1948 graduate of the former Ashland High School and a graduate of Temple University, Philadelphia.

She was a Registered Nurse for United Cerebral Palsy of Pottsville.

She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, Tremont.

Shirley enjoyed cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family.

Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were a son, Frank E Benner; a daughter, Donna Deibler; and a brother, Robert Zeplin.

She is survived by her husband John R Benner, Jr, to whom she was married for 51 years.

She is also survived by two daughters, Patricia A Benner of Tremont and Kathryn M Nork and her husband Donald of Ocean View, DE; a son, William A Benner and his wife Rebecca of Severna Park, MD; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Services will be held at a later date at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, Tremont,

Burial will be made in Christ Church Cemetery, Fountain Springs.

Memorial contributions can be made to Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, Locust and Green Streets, Tremont PA 17981, or Avenues, 2 Park Street, Pottsville, PA 17901 or to a favorite charity.
