Flood Advisory Issued for Schuylkill County

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Advisory for Schuylkill County Monday Afternoon.


* Flood Advisory for...
South central Schuylkill County in central Pennsylvania...

* Until 515 PM EDT

* At 215 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area.
Up to two inches of rain have already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Pine Grove, Tremont and Ravine.

Additional rainfall of 1 to 3 inches is expected over the area. This
additional rain will result in minor flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.
