Man Dies After Being Struck with Debris from Crash

A man has died after suffering injuries in crash where he was struck with debris while he sat in a restaurant.

On Friday, July 7, 2017 around 8:30am, a tractor trailer was traveling north in the right lane on Route 61 when the driver’s side most rear tires became disengaged from the vehicle.

The tires crossed into R&R Auto Group parking lot striking 7 new Cadillac vehicles.

The dislodged tires continued into the parking lot of Robin’s Diner before striking a vehicle parked in the diner’s lot and then crashing into the south side façade of Robin’s Restaurant.

Robin's Restaurant sustained heavy damage to the south side of the restaurant.

Two people inside the restaurant were injured including a 74-year-old male, identified as Martin Moyer, who was sitting at the counter inside the restaurant.

Moyer was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, PA via helicopter.

Moyer later succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday, 07/11/17.

Moyer's death has been ruled accidental by a Lehigh County Coroner but the State Police at Schuylkill Have are still investigating why the vehicle's became disengaged.
