Nativity BVM Head Coach Steps Down, Search for New Coach Begins

On Monday afternoon, Nativity BVM, Pottsville, announced that their Head Football Coach has resigned.


According to a post by the school, Anthony Klazas, head football and track and field coach has resigned and is effective starting July 17, 2017.


Klazas has been the head football coach for the past 15 years and has a total of 24 years of coaching experience for Nativity BVM.

The posts explains that Klazas stepped down due to personal reasons but will still remain working for the school as the Director of Maintenance.

Mrs. Lynn A Sabol, principal of Nativity BVM High School, states “Tony Klazas has dedicated his entire life to the betterment of the Nativity BVM High School community. He has been, and will continue to be, an avid supporter of Catholic Education and the Mission of Nativity BVM High School.”

With the official start of the fall sports season less than 2 months away, the Nativity BVM High School Administration will be opening a search for a new Head football Coach immediately.

Summer workouts will continue under the guidance of Mr. Joshua Muldowney, Athletic Director and assistant coach, along with other members of the current coaching staff.
