Russel Samuel Reiner, 94, of Pitman, passed away Saturday, August 26th, at Geisinger Shamokin Area Community Hopital, Shamokin, PA.

Russel was born in Pitman, on May 6, 1923, a son of the late Katie (Rebuck) and Henry Y. Reiner.

He worked as a farmer and was a rural carrier for the United States Postal Service in Klingerstown. Prior to being the full time mail carrier for Klingerstown he was a substitute carrier for Pitman.

He was a life member of St. James Lutheran Church, served on the official board, and was superintendent of the Sunday School.

He was also a member of the Mahantongo Fire Company and enjoyed word searches and puzzles.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years Mary (Carpenter) Reiner; the couple married July 31, 1949.

Russel is also survived by two daughters, Barbara, wife of Dennis Messner, of Valley View and Dawn, wife of Marlin Lesher, of Pitman, sister, Ruth Stepp; sister-in-law Kathryn Reiner, five grandchildren; Tracey Witmer, Melodee Lesher, Jill Beatty; Joy Lenker and Timothy Lesher; 9 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Katie "Marie" Gallagher, Anna Mull and Erma Snyder; and three brothers, Henry, Lee and Paul Reiner

Viewing will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 from 9-11 AM at St. James Lutheran Church, Main Rd., Pitman with the funeral service following at 11:00 AM with Rev. Warren Egebo officiating.

Interment will follow in Jacob's Cemetery, Pitman.

Vivian Burcin, 87, Ashland, PA passed away Friday, August 25, 2017 at her home. Born in Mount Carmel, PA on December 3, 1929, daughter of the late Alvin Nelson, Anna Kerdock Nelson Schiovonne, and stepfather Adam Schiovonne. She was a member of St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church, McAdoo, PA. She graduated from Ashland High School in 1948; was a chaplin at the American Hose Company in Ashland, PA. Vivian owned Adams Cafe in Ashland, PA with her husband Peter who preceded in her death in 1998. She later worked at the Ashland Shirt Co. until retired. Vivian was also preceded in death by two sisters; Ramona Wolfgang and Doris Poslosky, seven step-brothers/sisters; Clement, Elizabeth, Alfonso, Eleanor, Joseph, Alberto, and Richard. She is survived by her children; Michael, Vivian, and Lillian Burcin, Ashland, PA, Selina, wife of Stephen Toth, Shenandoah, PA, Susan, wife of Daniel Ladue, Shenandoah, PA, grandchildren; Stephen, husband of Mitra Toth, Minersville, PA, David Toth, husband of Susan Minnick , Palmyra, PA, Danielle Crestuk, Shenandoah, PA, Nicole Noyes, Vermont,; great grandchildren; Luke, Lexi, Mia Toth, Minersville, PA, Morgan Bloomer, Joseph and Emma Crestuk , Shenandoah, PA, Cassidy, Aiden, Payton Noyes , Vermont.
Mass of Christian burial with Divine Liturgy will be celebrated Wednesday August 30, 2017 at 12 Noon in St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church, McAdoo,PA. Rev. Greg Hossler officiating. Interment in St. Michael's Cemetery, McAdoo, PA. Visitation Wednesday August 30, 2017 10:00-11:00 AM at Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home Ashland, PA. Jean A. Reichert, 68, of Auburn, passed away Friday, August 25th, at Reading Hospital.

Jean was born in Pottsville, on February 13, 1949, a daughter of the late Marie (Hopkins) and William Stusalitus.

She was the wife of Vincent H. Reichert.

She was a graduate of Minersville High School, Class of 1967 and was employed as a purchasing agent at Wright's Knit Wear and most recently at East Penn Manufacturing.

Jean is preceded in death by her son Bradley, a brother William, Jr. and a sister Bertha Baver.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons Christopher V. husband of Elena, Orwigsburg and Michael D. husband of Kelly, New Ringgold; grandchildren Seth B. and Amber M. Reichert and Ashleigh Reinhart; her dog Molly; and a nephew.

Services will be held privately.
