Six County Wineries Featured at Annual Hegins Festival Labor Day Weekend

Hegins, PA – The Hegins Park will once again host the 9th annual Schuylkill County Wine Festival on Sunday, September 3, 2017.

The wine festival offers a family-friendly day of food and entertainment, showcasing the talents of six local Schuylkill County wineries, including Hegins own Red Shale Ridge Winery, Benigna’s Creek Vineyard and Winery (Klingerstown), Stone Mountain Wine Cellars (Pine Grove), Long Trout Winery (Auburn), Galen Glen Vineyards & Winery (Andreas), and Fieldwood Winery (Schuylkill Haven).

Advanced tickets are on sale until August 26, 2017 for $12. Regular admission price, including at the festival gates, is $15. Attendees are encouraged to bring canopies and chairs to the park. Snacks are permitted but festival co-founder, Mary Tobash discourages full meals being brought in to the festival.

“Each year our caterers work extra hard to provide gourmet-style food just for the festival. We encourage everyone to support our vendors so they will keep coming back each year. They are a huge part of our festival.” states Tobash. “Prices are reasonable and the food is outstanding! Festival goers can bring snacks but we don’t permit a full picnic. This year, Scott Dee and Oak Hill Catering has provided us with a pre-order menu for large groups. Anyone planning a reunion or a special gathering can have food prepared for a certain time by pre-ordering.”

Live entertainment will be provided by The 60’s Boys, TJ Fitzpatrick, and DJ Dan Poletti. Plenty of vendors will be on hand selling popular items including cheeses, roasted peanuts, cigars, crafts, and wine glass holders. The Tri-Valley Library in Hegins will also feature a used book sale in support of the library. The annual table decorating contest will also be held during the event. Participants are asked to design a table based on this year’s them of Wine & Roses. All participants not winning one of five prizes will receive a complimentary bottle of wine. The top 5 winners will each receive a deluxe wine basket.

Festival gates open at 11:00 am. Entertainment begins at 12:00pm, with the wine-tasting starting at 1:00pm. The Hegins Park offers plenty of room for bus or limo parking. Discount tickets are available for groups of 10 people or more. Visit www.schuylkillwinefestival.com for more information on pre-ordering tickets. This is a rain or shine event.
